Leonid Talochkin

(1936-2002)

Leonid Talochkin (1936-2002) was the greatest collector of unofficial Russian art. The "Museum of the Other Art" at the State University of Humanities in Moscow, the largest museum of unofficial Russian art of the years 1950-1980, including over 2000 works, was born from his private collection. Leonid Talochkin's teachings have been essential to young Vladislav Shabalin. In the years they stayed in touch - from 1988, when they first met in Moscow, until 1992, when Shabalin moved to Italy - Talochkin never ceased to encourage and support him, especially in the most difficult times.
